Tower Bridge

From wikipedia: Tower Bridge is a combined bascule and suspension bridge in London, England, over the River Thames. It is close to the Tower of London, which gives it its name. It has become an iconic symbol of London.

The Tower Bridge exhibit is contained in those upper walkways; I can't believe we were up there!

Since you can't look down and it's enclosed in glass, it wasn't scary at all.

The Tower of London is to the left. We'll visit that on another occasion.

The odd shaped building is nicknamed the gherkin.

And that oddly shaped building is city hall, nicknamed the armadillo.

The last stop on the tour was the engine room. The drawbridge is opened about 1000 times a year to allow ships to pass upstream.

The governor would shut down the flow of steam when there was too much.
